Time changed the look of the mug shot to give a different meaning then the Newsweek cover. But giving a different meaning to the image gives the people more to think about.

Photo Manipulation
I don't think that a journalistic photographer should protect the truth accurately because the truth is less fun. Also, most of the things they photoshop isn't really hurting anything. Some things are kind of rude to the people that have been photoshopped, like taking people out of the pictures, but sometimes thats a good thing. When they photoshop the pictures, they sometimes make the picture have a different message than it originally had. I think this isn't such a bad thing, because when you have different versions of the picture you get different opinions instead of just one that you would get if the picture was not photoshopped. A good example of photoshopping photographs to have a different meaning is how Time Magazine did their cover for OJ Simpson.
